Andy Lin, an insatiable collector and seller of mid-century design passed away unexpectedly in December 2021.  Andy began collecting and selling Mid-Century Modern design in the late ‘80s through the 2020’s.  A graduate of Cornell University, and a Viet Nam War vet Andy had a successful corporate marketing career for 20+ years before opening Lin-Weinberg Gallery in New York’s Soho with Larry Weinberg in 1994. Throughout the years, Andy enjoyed the respect and trust of collectors and experts worldwide.  He was known for his well-researched selections, spirited lectures and generously sharing information with colleagues and collectors.  From the late 1980’s onward, exhibitions included design pioneers Edward Wormley for Dunbar, Fran Hosken, Vladimir Kagan, Lagardo Tackett among others.  This sale is the beginning of clearing through thousands of items collected over 35 years.  Items being offered by Alderfer Auction have been sourced from home, stores and a legendary warehouse of “projects” and stowed away finds.  September 8th at 10:00 AM starts the series of Mid-Century Modern Design collections of Andy Lin amongst others.
