An original family owned doll. It came from the Winston-Salem area before landing in Alabama, being given to another young family member to play with. This 20 1/2" MAGGIE BESSIE doll is an earlier doll. With exposed ears, it has a more masculine appearance. Painted blue eyes, parted dark blonde hair. He has a leather gusseted body with bisque lower arms. Dressed in an antique wool Confederate Civil War type uniform. Comes with a leather bag. NO shoes. Condition: fingers are missing from both hands. Paint is worn on back of head but he still has very nice painting. Age loss to clothing.
