Spencer Carbine Model 1860 in .52 cal with 22" round barrel. Carbine is serial numbered"42357". The top of the receiver is weakly stamped in 3 lines"SPENCER REPEATING / RIFLE CO. BOSTON MASS / PAT'S MARCH 6, 1860". Carbine presents a good bore that presents some corrosion at breech end with some dirt. Metal surface of the gun exhibits a graying with some surface rust and pitting. Wood is in good condition with some digs and abrasions. Left side of stock presents single carved letter"J".
