Civil War Sharps & Hankins"Army" Second Model 1862 carbine. in .52 cal with 19" round barrel. Right side of the frame stamped in four lines"SHARPS / & / HANKINS / PHILADA" and left side of frame stamped in three lines"SHARPS / PATENT / 1859". Carbine is serial numbered"4845" on tang and bottom of barrel. Carbine presents good bore. Frame of carbine presents a large amount of its bluing and casehardening with some minor surface rust. Wood in good condition with only some slight abrasions. Front side is not original to gun.
