ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS". Carbine is serial numbered"3964". Paper Maynard label is present on the interior of the patchbox. Metal surface of carbine exhibits overall graying with some areas of spotting. Primer gate exhibits some looseness. Wood of carbine exhibits wear and some digs/abrasions with crack and small loss at upper left stock. Trigger spring is possibly broken, primer feed does not advance, reproduction nipple, and side lever is broken off. Many Civil War firearm scholars believe that Maynard carbines in the serial number range of 1900 thru 4100 saw Confederate service with cavalry units from Mississippi, Florida or Georgia.
