Cased Colt Model 1849 Pocket (London) revolver bearing the serial #2963 (matching serial numbers) in .31 caliber percussion. Pistol presents a 6" octagonal barrel. Top of barrel presents two-line stamping"ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON". with left side of frame stamped "COLTS/PATENT in two lines. The cylinder is stamped"COLTS PATENT No" followed by serial number and is engraved with a stagecoach robbery scene. Gun present several English proofing marks. Serial number indicates that the pistol was manufactured in 1854. Pistol exhibits nearly all of its bluing and case hardening. Pistol housed in original case containing a near mint Dixon & Sons powder flask, bullet mold, cleaning rod, L-shaped gun tool, cap box and extra nipples. Case measures 6" x 12" x 2.25" and presents original key. Pistol exhibits minor wear to backstrap. Gun would rate excellent in NRA antique firearms standards. This is a gorgeous cased firearm.
