Colt Model 1860 Army revolver with fluted cylinder bearing the serial #1492 (matching serial numbers) in .44 caliber percussion. Pistol presents a 7.5" round barrel and is fit for shoulder stock. Top of barrel presents one-line stamping"ADDRESS SAML COLT, HARTFORD CT". with left side of frame stamped "COLTS/PATENT in two lines. The cylinder is stamped with serial number and"PATENT SEPT 10th, 1850". Serial numbers indicate that the pistol was manufactured in 1860. Pistol exhibits some of its original bluing and case hardening. Pistol exhibits slight pitting to cylinder with silver plating on brass butt and trigger guard exhibiting some pitting/wear. Grips exhibit some slight abrasions and digs. Gun would rate very good to fine in NRA antique firearms standards. Pistol is accompanied by Colt research letter tracing the shipment of this pistol to the Colt Mfg. Company-New York Office on Broadway on April 1, 1861 as part of a shipment of 50 guns.
