Colt Dragoon Revolver-3rd Model bearing the serial #19423 (all matching serial numbers) in .44 caliber percussion. Pistol presents a 7.5" partial octagonal to round barrel. Top of barrel present one-line stamping"ADDRESS SAML COLT, NEW-YORK CITY". with left side of frame stamped "COLTS/PATENT/US" in three lines. The cylinder is engraved with the Texas Ranger and Indian battle scene and "MODEL U.S.M.R." and "COLT'S PATENT". Serial number indicates that this pistol was manufactured in 1860. Pistol exhibits much of its original bluing and case hardening with some areas of plum toning. Gun would rate fine to excellent in NRA antique firearms standards. Wood surfaces exhibit some minor/small digs with post contemporary varnish. Pistol accompanied by Colt research letter stating that this pistol was shipped to J.C.Grubb & Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in April of 1861 as part of a shipment of 25 guns.
