Group including TLS and PS of Wernher von Braun (1912-1977) German-American aerospace engineer and space architect and leading figure in the development of rocket technology in pre-World War II and World War II Germany and later led rocket and space technology in the United States.. The typed letter signed (TLS) is dated December 20th, 1956 from von Braun to high school student William Focht giving him advice regarding a college degree in aeronautical engineering. The letter is accompanied by 10"x8" photograph of von Braun while at Redstone Arsenal Alabama signed at upper lefthand corner "William Focht sincerely, Wernher von Braun". Photograph exhibits some minor crinkling. Letter and photograph accompanied by original mailing envelope.
