Now Accepting Quality Consignments for Our September Fine Arts Auction

Following the extraordinary success of our June 11th auction, we are now accepting quality consignments for our highly anticipated September Fine Art & Mid-Century Modern Auction. Market demand remains incredibly strong, as evidenced by our recent event where fierce global bidding drove final prices far beyond their presale expectations. If you are considering selling, there has never been a better time to leverage our platform to achieve maximum value for your fine art, antiques, and luxury goods.

Our June 11th auction saw unprecedented excitement, with several standout items completely shattering their presale estimates:

  • George T. Hetzel (1846 - 1912) Oil on Canvas: Proving the immense strength of the fine art market, Hetzel's 1877 Realist wooded road landscape skyrocketed to close at an incredible $11,250—over 12 times its high estimate.
  • David Rittenhouse (1732-1796) Philadelphia Tall Case Clock: This magnificent 1771 mahogany clock made for Christopher Hiebner, featuring an 8-day brass movement and a signed "David Rittenhouse Norriton" dial, became a major star of the day. Competitive bidding pushed the final price to a staggering $68,750—more than 8 times its high estimate.
  • Slavery/Liberia Colonization Archive (Nathaniel Crenshaw): This historically significant 16-document archive detailing the inspirational pre-Civil War liberation efforts of Quaker minister Nathaniel C. Crenshaw tripled its high estimate, realizing $7,500.
  • Dominick and Haff "King" Sterling Silver Flatware Service for 12: This impressive 82-piece American sterling silver service, weighing 94.36 ozt (excluding hollow handles) and mostly date-engraved 1907, surpassed its presale expectations to finish at a commanding $7,500.
  • Fern Isabel Kuns Coppedge (1883 - 1951) Oil on Board: The beautiful impressionist harbor scene, The Summer Sea—consigned from the Estate of George R. Parry to benefit Temple University and Central Bucks School District—nearly doubled its high estimate, selling for $47,500.

Additional Auction Highlights

The momentum carried across all categories, yielding exceptional results for our consignors:

  • Walter Emerson Baum (1884 - 1956): Branch Creek oil on board, also from the Estate of George R. Parry benefiting Temple University and Central Bucks School District, nearly doubled its high estimate to bring $4,687.
  • James L. Dick & Loetz Glass: Both the Victorian genre painting Always at Mischief and a stunning Austrian Art Nouveau Loetz Phanomen Glass Vase more than doubled their high estimates, each fetching $4,375.
  • Silver & Design Success: A 19th-century Tiffany "Japanese" Silver Macaroni Server outperformed its estimate to realize $1,875, while a 6-piece set of Soviet Russian Enameled Silver Cordials closed at $1,250.
  • Estate Jewelry: An 18k Yellow Gold Charm Bracelet (49.9 dwt) brought a strong $7,500 against its $4,000 - $6,000 estimate.
  • Celebrity Provenance & Lighting: The personal effects, ephemera, and photographic archive of Hollywood legend Lauren Bacall hit its stride at $10,000, while a beautiful Tiffany "Pomegranate" Art Glass Table Lamp also sold for $10,000.
